Self driving car hits self driving pedestrian. So what's the problem?
It's the pedestrian's fault, always. Take PUBG for example……..

Why do people assume cars will stop for them anyway? Wait until the car signals you to cross. Don't assume anything or you risk ending up as roadkill.

Uber should release the video and data that was captured before the incident.

It's probably still safer than a human driver. I wonder why bother having a human behind the wheel if they're not going to do anything. Would be nice to have more details on what happened.

My condolences to the victims friends and family.
Some thoughts, 1-There was a human at the wheel, and this still occured, 2- it's a VOLVO which already has pedestrian collision avoidance tech, was it disabled? 3-Victim was jaywalking a bike across the road, was UBER AI software not smart enough to know what this was?

It sucks this happened, but she didn't use a pedestrian crossing, even a human driver wouldn't expect her.

Self-drivers will ultimately reach a point where they are exponentially safer than human-operated vehicles. The reduction in accidents, injuries and deaths will be significant and worth the cost in lives because, in the end, it will make all of us much safer.

    It's gonna happen.
Question is: what's the limit until something is done.
    Just like guns.

Look both ways before you cross and if you do cross the street make sure you do it in a crosswalk! 😉

Sad that this happened, although she did cross the road not using a pedestrian crossing. Machines follow rules, people don't.
